Charlestown Residents Support Students' Futures Through Scholarship Fund

Student employees awarded scholarships supported by Charlestown residents

Local high school graduates were recently honored at the 37th annual Scholars Program Celebration at Charlestown, an Erickson Senior Living community in Catonsville, MD.

These dedicated student team members—who worked as servers and hosts across the community’s six on-campus restaurants—demonstrated outstanding commitment to service and professionalism.

To recognize their dedication and propel their promising futures, Charlestown residents generously donated to the Scholars Fund, awarding student employees up to $2,500 per semester for up to eight semesters. In addition to the traditional scholarship, 11 students were also recognized with special named scholarships, which range from a one-year $2,000 award to a four-year scholarship of $1,500 per year.

To qualify for a four-year scholarship, a student must work a minimum number of hours, maintain good academic and professional standing, and plan to attend a college, university, or trade school full-time.

“Our Scholars bring so much energy and warmth to Charlestown. We’re excited to see all they’ll accomplish in the next chapter of their lives.” says Executive Director Don Grove, “We’re incredibly grateful to our residents for their generosity. These awards make a lasting difference in our students' lives.”
