Giant To Award Parkville Customers Free Groceries Friday
The event will also feature free food tastings.

An area grocery store will be giving away free groceries Friday as a reward to its customers.
Giant Food, which opened in Parkville Shopping Center in early 2012, has arranged to give away groceries to 23 families during an event held from 5-7 p.m. Jan. 18.
Patrons of the shop have already had a chance to enter the contest, according to a release from Giant.

22 of the winners will get free groceries for a month, while one family will be awarded free groceries for a year.
"It's just to reward those shoppers who have been loyal to frequenting that store," the release said. "Hopefully people will come and see if they have won."

The event, which is open to the public, also features free tastings of food prepared in-store.
"Anyone who happens to be there that night will have access to the free tastings and can stay to watch the award presentation," according to the release.
