West Baltimore Native, Hall, Is Globetrotter, CCBC Grad

A 5-foot 2-inch basketball player from West Baltimore has made it big, as a member of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Jonte "Too Tall" Hall, who grew up on McCulloh Street, makes his hometown debut next month at 1st Mariner Arena in Baltimore.

He's the shortest player ever for the 87-year-old Globetrotters team, according to a news release from the team.

And he's known as a "dribbling machine," the release states.

The Globetrotters will play two games on Dec. 29: at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at 1st Mariner Arena.

Hall attended Furman L. Templeton Elementary School, as well as Carver Vocational-Technical High School. He's a 2003 graduate of CCBC in Catonsville.

Some more facts, as provided by the team:

• Growing up, Too Tall played recreational basketball with current New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony
• At age seven, Too Tall cut holes in the bottom of milk cartons, nailed them to a tree and practiced shooting basketballs for hours
• Too Tall’s uncle played professional basketball overseas and help him hone his skills starting at age nine
• Too Tall’s father is 5-foot 4-inches tall, and his mother is 4-foot 9-inches
