Broken Thermometer at Guilford Elementary and Middle School Prompts Haz Mat Alert

Students from the Guillford Elementary and Middle School, 4500 block York Road, are being released after a thermometer broke possibly exposing students to mercury in a middle school classroom.

As of about 2:42 p.m., parents were waiting outside the school for their children to be dismissed. Many were angry about the school not notifying them prior to media reports about the spill.
