Day School to Celebrate Israel's Memorial Day

will hold a Yom HaZikaron (Memorial Day in Israel) ceremony to honor "those who gave their lives in service to the Jewish Homeland," according to a school news release.

It's set for 9-10 a.m. April 25 at the school. The event is free and open to the entire community.

Also during the ceremony the school will honor current students' family members who have served in the Israel Defense Forces.

They have also been invited to come to the ceremony.

Since the State of Israel was established nearly 64 years ago, four new holidays have been added to the Jewish national calendar, including Yom HaZikaron, according to Jewish Virtual Library.

In Israel, it's a national holiday.
