Get a Free Slice of Birthday Cake at Giant Food

Giant Food celebrates its 77th birthday today at all it's 170 stores, including in Pikesville.

Celebrate with them this afternoon as associates cuts the birthday cake and offer a free slice.

"Customers and community members are invited to join," according to a news release from Giant.

The Pikesville store is located at 3757 Old Court Rd.

On Feb. 6, 1936, N.M. Cohen and Samuel Lehrman worked together to bring the first grocery store to Washington, D.C. at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Park Road," the release states.

Also, according to the release:

Giant Food LLC, headquartered in Landover, MD, operates 170 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and the District of Columbia, and employs about 22,000 associates.

Included within the 170 stores are 159 full-service pharmacies.
