Longtime baseball executive Stan Kasten has teamed up with Magic Johnson and others to buy the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise, according to a USAToday.com report.

The group offered to buy the franchise Tuesday for a record $2 billion.

"If the cash deal is approved by the judge overseeing the Dodgers   bankruptcy, the price will easily be the most ever paid for a professional sports team," the report states.

According to reports on BaltimoreJewishLife.com, Kasten is a graduate of in Pikesville.
