Federal judges threw out a lawsuit that asserted the layout was racially motivated, but they said it was still an odd layout, according to an article in the Maryland Gazette.
"In form, the original Massachusetts gerrymander looks tame by comparison, as this is more reminiscent of a broken-winged pterodactyl, lying prostrate across the center of the state,” U.S. Circuit Judge Paul V. Niemeyer of the 4th federal circuit in Greenbelt wrote in his opinion.
