Tickets cost $12 apiece, according to the school's website.

They can be purchased at the school box office, at the school office or from the theater department, Kim Masimore, theater arts teacher, said in an email.

"A Raisin in the Sun" will be directed by Garry Tiller.

"Our young actors are anything but average, and most people walk away from our performances saying 'That was middle school?' " Masimore said.

And they've been honored for their work.

The school and theater arts department received the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts National Schools of Distinction in Arts Education Award for the 2009-10 school year, she said.

"A Raisin in the Sun" was written by Lorraine Hansberry.
