5 Things To Know This Week: May 28-June 3
Check out our calendar for more of the week's events.

Good morning, Potomac! It’s Memorial Day Monday morning, and time to wind-down your long weekend with this week’s “5 Things.” Among our offerings: weather, some interesting tidbits and a few quick notes.
1. The week ahead will be varied, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms somedays and plenty of sunny skies on others. High temperatures will get into the 90s, with lows in the 60s. Today will be sunny with a high of 93, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight will be cloudy with lows dropping to 66.
2. Graduation nears for high school seniors across the county, and we’ve got a way to share your favorite memories. We’d love for you to upload your photos from homecoming, prom, that memorable basketball game -- anything -- right here on Patch. We’ve put together a virtual yearbook for Winston Churchill High School and for Walt Whitman High School, ready for you to post your pictures, thoughts and well-wishes.
3. Four years ago, Joe Horton couldn’t run the length of his driveway in Atlanta, GA. Today, the Washington, D.C.- area transplant is training to complete the 50-mile Northface Endurance challenge in June. But his mission isn’t just bragging rights. The 41-year-old is attempting to raise $20,000 to establish a scholarship fund for underprivileged kids interested in playing youth sports. Read more about Joe’s story here.
4. Do you have an event that you're trying to promote on Patch? Looking for volunteers? Trying to promote a group exercise adventure? Do you have a church potluck that you want everyone to know about? Post it yourself on Patch! It's super easy; check out a quick how-to-video here.
