5. How about this for a tidbit of history: During the American Revolution, Lancaster, PA, was briefly the capital of the colonies on September 27, 1777, when the Continental Congress fled the British-controlled Philadelphia. After meeting one day in Lancaster, Congress moved again to York, PA.
