Churchill Wrestlers Take Two Wins in Tri-Meet

The Bulldogs match up with Seneca Valley tomorrow.

grapplers took two wins away from their tri-meet against Sherwood and Whitman Dec. 17

Churchill won 54-22 against Sherwood with pins from Hunter Daniels (Freshman-106), Peter Heilbron (Senior-132), Ryan Plummer Junior-138), Giulian Groce (Freshman-160), Matthew Schleckser (Junior -182) and Collins Kenlak (Senior-195).

Winning on points were Adam Vinner (Sophomore-126) and Victor Carvajal (Senior-152). 

Winning for forfeits included Hunter Sutton (Sophmore-145) and Panos Nicolaou (Freshman-170).

Churchill also took away a win against a highly competitive Whitman team, 37-33 with the victory coming down to the final match. Team co-capitan Victor Carvajal needed a victory to give Churchill the win and he was able to pin is opponent in 3:10. 

Also recording pins for Churchill were Adam Vinner (Sophomore-126), Ryan Plummer (Junior-138), Hunter Sutton (Sophomore-145). 

Grapplers winning on points included Hunter Daniels (Sophomore-113), Peter Heilbron (Senior-132) and Mike Kelley (Senior-220).

This brings the Churchill team to a record of 3-1 for the season. Up next for the Bulldogs are Seneca Valley on Dec. 20 and Bethesda-Chevy Chase Dec. 22.
