Commanders Owner Dan Snyder Puts Potomac Estate On Market For $49M

Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder has put his 30,000-square-foot mansion in Potomac on the market for $49 million.

POTOMAC, MD — With the Washington Commanders reportedly up for sale, team co-owner Dan Snyder is also trying to sell his estate in Potomac.

The 30,000-square-foot mansion, on 15.2 acres with views of the Potomac River, is hitting the market for $49 million, the same price the home was listed at in 2018, according to WTOP.

If Snyder gets his asking price for the home, it would be the most expensive home sale ever in the Washington, D.C., area, Fox 5 reported Monday. The current record for the most expensive home sale was set by Snyder in 2021 when he bought an estate in Alexandria for $48 million.

According to the listing by TTR Sotheby's International Realty, the mansion on River Road in Potomac was the former estate of Jordan's King Hussein and Queen Noor.

"The main parcel and structure were acquired from the King & Queen in 2000," the listing reads. "Subsequently, the owner has thoughtfully acquired six adjacent parcels furthering to beautify and expand this grand and private 15-acre riverfront parcel. The estate is a collaboration between renowned architect, John Ike, designer, Geoffrey Bradfield, and Horizon Builders."

Snyder reportedly bought the home in 2000 for $8.6 million.

The house has reportedly been up for sale privately for several years, Fox 5 reported. But this is the first time the home is going on the market publicly.

The home's guest house and garage are connected to the main house by a poolside loggia and a mid-level granite-cobbled motor court. There are additional garage bays in the main residence and on the lower level of the guest house.

"An elegant spiral staircase leads to the top floor of the guest house. The guest house is private and well-appointed with two-bedroom suites, a separate kitchen, and generous living and dining rooms," the listing reads.
