Bomb Threat In Potomac Was Unfounded, Police Say

The threat was initially reported shortly after 10:40 a.m. Thursday, police said.

POTOMAC, MD — Montgomery County police on Thursday said a possible bomb threat at a building in Potomac was determined to be unfounded.

In a statement shared on X, police said officers and Montgomery County fire crews were investigating the validity of the threat targeting a building in the 1200 block of Seven Locks Road.

Police said the threat was reported shortly after 10:40 a.m.

The building was evacuated as authorities investigated, according to police. People were let back into the building shortly before noon, authorities said in an update.

The Rockville Police Department is handling the investigation.
