A large fire at a mansion in Potomac displaced a family of four on Wednesday night, according to Montgomery County fire officials.
POTOMAC, MD — A large fire at a mansion in Potomac displaced a family of four on Wednesday night, according to Montgomery County fire officials.
Five people, including three children, who were at the home at the time of the fire were able to safely leave the home. One of the children inside the home was a guest, officials said. The home is located on Brickyard Court, near Falls Road in Potomac.
County firefighters arrived at the Potomac home in response to reports of a fire soon after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, according to Montgomery County Fire and EMS spokesman Pete Piringer.

When firefighters arrived, heavy fire was showing from the home. The Red Cross is assisting the displaced family members, he said.
The fire caused more than $2 million in damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Piringer.
