Har Shalom Remembers 9/11
Hundreds gathered to remember the victims of 9/11 this year at Congregation Har Shalom.
Over 350 people gathered at Congregation Har Shalom Sept. 11, 2011 for a tenth anniversary memorial service for the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to a release from Har Shalom.
Rabbi Adam Raskin addressed the crowd saying, “Whether you were living or not yet born, you know that . Today, we are here to remember the loss of those no longer with us, and the bravery of those who rushed in to help.”
During the ceremony, three firefighters from Station #33, located next door to , planted an oak tree sapling in the children’s playground. The tree was planted in remembrance of Ernest M. Willcher z’’l, a Har Shalom member who died during the Sept. 11, 2001 attack on the Pentagon.
