Potomac Village Farmers Market Opens 2012 Season
Kale, apples, strawberries, flowers and more await eager customers at the farmers market located at Potomac United Methodist Church
The Potomac Village Farmers Market opened Thursday at with just under 10 vendors in attendance and more expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
Bethesda's Plant Masters, Poolesville's Rocklands Farm and the Pennsylvania-based McCleaf’s Orchard were just a few of the visiting businesses on opening day. All said that while the business was slow, it was made up of loyal, steady customers making the visit more than worth the time and effort of set up.
"People are just remembering the market," said Anna Glen of Rocklands Farm of the burgeoning market season. "People drive by and say 'Oh, I'm so glad I saw the tents! I did a screeching halt and drove back.'"

Market coordinator Suzanne Hermes said she anticipated around 300 to 400 people on opening day, with 600 or more coming when the market season was fully up and running.
