Winston Churchill High School Students Compete For National Merit Scholarships
How many students qualified as semifinalists this year?

It’s a new school year, which means a whole new group of students competing nationwide for National Merit Scholarships.
Winston Churchill High School has 11 students competing for a $2,500 prize, as semifinalists for the 2013 National Merit scholarship, according to a Montgomery County Public Schools release.

- Jessica Chi Lee
- Felix Li
- Nikita Markovych
- Neil G. Shekar
- Maeve K. Tobin
- Sara Y. Wang
- Alyssa K. Weiss
These students, along with 126 other Montgomery County public school students, were among the top scorers on the 2011 PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test in the nation. Maryland has a total of 323 semifinalists this year.
