A Week in Review: High School Sports, School, and Patch's 100th site.
A look at notable events for the week of Aug. 16 to Aug. 22.

On Monday, our neighborhood children will be heading back to school and although there will be a few more days of heat, summer feels officially over. Students and parents attended school orientations Thursday and some schools held special events before the first day of school.
This week . It's a huge accomplishment for us in the sense that we're a group of hyper-local news websites supported by our local readers. However, everyone it seems wants to know how we'll do. College Park Patch and editor Lauren Evans were featured in a National Public Radio story Tuesday and we were also featured in a USA Today story.
I'm so excited about football season to begin and it sounds like Parkdale High School's players are looking forward to a successful season as well. Seems like Northwestern High School is also excited to rebound this fall from an uneventful soccer season last fall. The school is also looking for more cross country runners.
Although University Park Police Chief Michael Wynnyk held another a number of break-ins occurred in University Park and Riverdale Park. Police remind everyone to keep an eye on neighborhood streets and to report any suspicious activity.
