On Tuesday, April 17, senior Marlowe J. Vilchez presented his Senior Fellowship Project in a public lecture at Hampden-Sydney College. Marlowe is one of a select group of seniors who undertook an extended, interdisciplinary research project which culminated in a public presentation. Although Senior Fellows are undergraduates, they are expected to pursue their research project at a graduate-school level. Each project is evaluated on its originality, on the thoroughness of its research methods, and on the quality of the final presentation. Marlowe's project, for Honors in Fine Arts and Psychology, was entitled "How Actors Act: Stanislavski and Modeling."

A Patrick Henry Scholar, Marlowe serves as President of the French Club and is a member of the Jongleurs (theatre arts), the Men's Chorus, and the Pre-Law Society. He is a member of the honorary societies Psi Chi (psychology) and Sigma Tau Delta (English). A fine arts-theatre and psychology major, Marlowe is a graduate of High Point High School and is the son of Ms. Kasandra V. Vilchez of Riverdale.
