UMd. Extension, PGPD Team Up for 'Harvesting Seeds of Hope'
The healthy eating event featured an appearance by Top Chef contestant Timothy Dean.
The , the Prince George's County Police Department, and celebrity chef Timothy Dean came together Tuesday to host Harvesting Seeds of Hope for teens from the Police Athletic League.
Members of P.A.L. took their farming knowledge learned at Montpelier Farms in Upper Marlboro to plant a pizza garden at police headquarters in Landover.
Dean, a DC native and one-time contestant on Top Chef season 7, was the guest speaker at the event and helped with the project.

Harvesting Seeds of Hope is an initiative designed to "encourage healthy eating, teach plant science, stress the importance of teamwork, and instill a sense of responsibility amongst teens"
