University Park Council Set to Meet Tonight
Members will discuss the budget process and a proposed bonus program for town employees.

The University Park Town Council is set to meet Monday night for a regular session. Among the items on the agenda:
- A pre-meeting presentation (7 p.m.) from the Standing Stone Consulting group about their study of the town based on crime prevention through environmental design.
- A presentation from Aaron Marcavitch, executive director of Anacostia Trails Heritage Area.
- A permit application to build a vinyl landscaping fence and replace a patio at 6511 Queens Chapel Rd.
- A possible endorsement of a CDC/FEMA/FMS Walk/Run through University Park on May 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.
- Further discussion about managing the town's budget process led by Mayor John Tabori.
- A proposed ordinance to establish an employee service recognition bonus, currently scheduled for a final vote on April 16.
- A proposed ordinance to prohibit use of construction and other storage receptacles on private property without a permit, currently scheduled for a final vote on April 16.
- Discussion of a bill making its way through the Maryland General Assembly that would establish Telecommunications Tax Reform Commission.
An excutive session to consult with counsel on a legal matter will follow at the end.
