Dozen Child Porn Charges Filed Against Severna Park Man

SEVERNA PARK, MD — A Severna Park man has been charged with a dozen criminal counts tied to child pornography, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. David Jason Wecht, 29, of the 700 block of Abigail Wynd Court in Severna Park, was arrested Feb. 1 on six counts of possession of child porn with intent to promote/distribute and six counts of possession of child pornography.

In December of 2016, the police department began an investigation into the distribution of child pornography and evidence was developed that led to a search warrant being served at the suspect’s home in January. During the search of Wecht's home, police seized several electronic devices he owned.

The department’s Digital Forensics Lab examined the devices and found multiple files of child pornography, authorities said. Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Wecht with multiple counts of distributing and possessing child pornography.
