Jones Elementary Among Five County Schools Recognized for School Climate

Five schools in Anne Arundel County, including Jones Elementary in Severna Park, have received special recognition for their positive school climate and academic performance. 

Three elementary schools, an alternative learning academy and a middle school were named "School of the Year" by the Maryland Center for Character Education, a nonprofit that focuses on celebrating good school performance in the state. 

Other recognized schools in Anne Arundel County include Jones Elementary School, Oakwood Elementary School, George Fox Middle School, and Mary Moss Academy. There were 38 schools recognized in Maryland.
