Patients Angry After Severna Park Dentistry Suddenly Closes
Dr. Neil R. Woods' office was closed Monday and patients gathered outside demanding their money back for services paid but not rendered.
SEVERNA PARK, MD — A Severna Park dentist shuttered his business without giving notice to patients, leaving them confused and angry. Dr. Neil R. Woods' office, Severna Park Dentistry, was closed Monday and a crowd of approximately 10 people gathered outside, shouting for him to open his door.
According to the Capital Gazette, Woods could be seen peering out from behind cardboard posted in the windows to prevent anyone from looking inside. Anne Arundel County police officers were summoned to escort him to his vehicle at one point.
The dentist office's phone number features a recording that stated the practice was closed due to "a medical neurological emergency that Dr. Woods is experiencing." The recording suggested that if anyone wanted their X-rays, they could leave a message and it also thanked clients for their "patronage over the past years."

People gathered outside his office told the Capital Gazette that the dentist accepted payments for dental work that was never completed or the patients had to have their dental work redone. Online court records reveal that a lawsuit has been filed against Woods and another dentist, Dr. Alejandro Rabanal, by Sherry Howard that claims medical malpractice. According to the lawsuit, she is seeking $30,000.
