Sensory Friendly Safety Fair Hosted by AACP and RISE for Autism

Learn more about safety for individuals with autism and special needs on April 19.

April is is Autism Awareness Month.

Come out on Sunday, April 19 from 2:00-5:00 p.m at Ruth Eason School (648 Old Mill Rd, Millersville) to learn more about safety for individual with autism and special needs. This event is being hosted by the Anne Arundel County Police and RISE for Autism.

The event will promote RISE for Autism’s Safety Program, including the introduction of the GPS tracking device that helps protect individuals who wander and elope. RISE will also offer general safety resources to increase awareness and access to safety strategies and items.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and greet with first responders, tour emergency vehicles and take a with a police officer. In addition, there will a moon bounce, sand art, balloons, face painting and of course snacks!

A sensory, quiet area will be available.
