SunTrust Bank In Severna Park Robbed Feb. 12

Cornell Dupree Roberts, 46, of Grasonvillehas been charged with armed robbery, robbery, second degree assault and theft.

SEVERNA PARK, MD — The SunTrust Bank at 155 Ritchie Highway was robbed Feb. 12 at approximately 11:30 a.m. A man walked into the bank, handed a note to a teller stating that he was robbing the bank and indicated he had a weapon. The teller provided the suspect with an undisclosed amount of money before he fled on foot.

Patrol officers, K9s and robbery detectives canvassed the area but could not find the suspect. While investigating the incident, detectives were able to identify a suspect, 46-year-old Cornell Dupree Roberts of Grasonville. A warrant was issued for Roberts' arrest and he was taken into custody Feb. 13. He also was charged on a warrant for an attempted robbery of the SunTrust Bank in Glen Burnie that occurred Nov. 15, 2019.

Roberts has been charged with armed robbery, robbery, second degree assault and theft of $1,500 to under $25,000.
