Chido's Tex-Mex Grill plans to open a second Maryland location in downtown Silver Spring, according to its application for a liquor license.
SILVER SPRING, MD — Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill plans to open a second Maryland location in July in downtown Silver Spring, according to its application for a liquor license in Montgomery County.
The restaurant plans to open around July 1 at 931 Ellsworth Drive, MOCO 360 reported.
The original location of Chido's Tex-Mex Grillis at 14600 Laurel Place in Laurel.

"We pride ourselves as being an authentic Mexican restaurant with all our delicious, freshly and daily prepared appetizers, entrees, dishes, and drinks," the venue said on its website. "We have a family atmosphere to surround your meals. Our staff is always attentive to all your needs. We follow our tradition of excellence in our service as well as in our culinary art."
Menu items include Madero New York Steak, a grilled New York strip steak served with homemade fried yuca, white rice, black beans and salad; Lechón Al Horno, pork slowly roasted in Spanish style sauce, topped with sauteed onions and served with white rice, black beans and fried plantains on the side; Ceviche Mixto, a fresh combination of shrimp, calamari and scallops; and staples including quesadillas, burritos, fajitas, chimichangas and more.

The Silver Spring site was most recently home to The Eleanor, a bowling lounge, bar and grill that closed in June 2023, MOCO 360 said. Other restaurants that have occupied the location include Lincoln’s Bar-B-Cue, A.G. Kitchen and Romano’s Macaroni Grill.
