Man Arrested In Downtown Silver Spring Stabbing: Police
A Silver Spring man was arrested for attempted second-degree murder after he allegedly stabbed another man during an argument.

SILVER SPRING, MD — A man was arrested after he allegedly stabbed another man during a dispute in downtown Silver Spring Tuesday evening.
Police charged Jonathan (Jo’Nathan) S. Worth, 24, of Silver Spring in the incident. The stabbing happened around 5:41 p.m. in the 8500 block of Fenton St., police said.
Worth was walking with a woman when he allegedly got into a verbal altercation with the 24-year-old victim as they walked on Ellsworth Dive, police said.

Police said Worth stabbed the victim when they were in the 8600 block of Fenton St. Worth and the victim did not know each other, police said.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel were already in the area for a report of the smell of gas. Firefighters provided a description to police of the suspect and the woman, and the direction they were last seen walking.

Firefighters provided treatment to the victim who suffered an apparent stab wound to the chest, police said. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment and is currently in stable condition.
Worth was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and reckless endangerment.
The woman Worth was with was determined to not be involved in the assault and was released without charges, police said.
Worth is currently being held without bond.
