2 MD Restaurants Make Eater's New 'Best In DC' List

TAKOMA PARK, MD — Two Maryland restaurants are included on Eater's new list featuring the best eateries in Washington, D.C.

The September edition of Eater DC’s list points diners toward the most intriguing or buzzworthy new restaurants in the D.C. area. To make the list, restaurants have to have been open for six months or less.

Both Maryland restaurants that made the list are in Montgomery County and are just a few steps away from each other.

Here's what Eater had to say about the new additions:

San Pancho, 7056 Carroll Ave., Takoma Park

"Made-to-order burritos and quesadillas arrive with an array of savory filling choices: chile-pepper shrimp, grilled chicken with a homemade rub, chicken mole, carnitas, carne asada, and slow-cooked beef barbacoa. There are also vegan options of homemade tofu and 'mushroom' chorizo, as well as mushrooms prepared with tequila and garlic. There are also fresh agua frescas, a frozen margarita machine, and delectable desserts, like chocoflan."

Red Hound Pizza, 7050 Carroll Ave., Takoma Park

"Red Hound Pizza brings Roman and Sicilian-style pies, focaccia sandwiches, salads, and desserts to the popular Maryland neighborhood. A seasonal, rotating menu of square pizzas comes by the slice or whole pie."
