91-Year-Old Has First Solo Art Show: Color and Chaos
The exhibit will open in January at Friendship Heights Gallery in Chevy Chase.

Friendship Heights Gallery will open a new exhibit titled Color and Chaos on Sunday, Jan. 4.
The solo exhibit features work by Gladys C. Lipton, 91, of Bethesda who was a former French and Spanish teacher and former head of the New York City Foreign Language Program. This is Lipton’s first solo exhibit.
Lipton began creating art only three years ago, making colorful, abstract pieces with a retro look.

Lipton will be present at the opening reception on Jan. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The exhibit will run at Friendship Heights Gallery, 4433 South Park Ave., Chevy Chase, until Sunday, Feb. 1. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
