Update 12:30 p.m.: The gas leak has been repaired and one lane of Carroll Avenue is open. Update 10:55 a.m.: Carroll Avenue between Lincoln Avenue and Jefferson Avenue will be closed for four to five hours due to the gas leak, Takoma Park Police said. Old Carroll is closed in the direction of Sligo Creek Parkway.  Drivers are being rerouted down Jefferson Avenue toward Lincoln Avenue. Original Story: A gas leak has closed the 7500 block of Carroll Avenue, according to Takoma Park Police. Washington Gas is on the scene and police suggest taking an alternate route.  Check back for updates.
