There was less crime in Montgomery County in 2011 than there was in 2010, according to a new report from Montgomery County Police. Crime was down in every category in 2011, according to county police statistics. Auto theft saw the biggest change with an 18.5 percent drop from 2010. There was almost no change in the amount of aggravated assaults from 2010 to 2011. The department had a 100 percent clearance rate for murders in 2011 according to police statistics. All 16 murders were solved.
