Editor's Note: Welcome Huffington Post DC

Huffington Post, who is owned by the same company as Patch, this week launched a local page to follow local news in Washington, D.C.

The site will combine original reporting, curation and a group blog that will allow reporters and residents to discuss both sides of D.C.: those in the city for political careers and those who have lived here and will continue to be here.

HuffPost DC is edited by Michael Grass who co-founded DCist and has worked at at Roll Call, the Washington Post's Express newspaper, and the Washington City Paper.

Patch will be working with HuffPost DC to bring local news to both platforms.
