Ethan Allen Avenue between Jackson and Prince Georges Avenues will be closed next week due to resurfacing work, Takoma Park Public Works Director Daryl Braithwaite said.
The work will start May 31 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will continue for seven days, through rain could extend the project, Braithwaite said.
Traffic will be diverted during work hours. Cars heading east bound on Ethan Allen Avenue will be detoured at Woodland Avenue to Elm Avenue and back to Ethan Allen. Westbound traffic will be detoured at Elm Avenue to Lincoln Avenue and Jackson Avenue back to Ethan Allen Avenue.

The work will be performed by a subcontractor to Washington Gas, Eastern Paving, Braithwaite said. They will be replacing the concrete sub base on the street, which will require metal plates to cover it for at least a day. They will also be milling and paving the street from curb to curb, she said.
