Gang Member Arrested for Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Darrell Wint, of Hyattsville, was arrested Friday.

A Hyattsville man was arrested Dec. 2 for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Takoma Park Police said.

Darrell Wint, a self-admitted gang member, was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, police said.

On Friday around 4:50 p.m., Takoma Park Police and the Takoma Park Gang Investigator were conducting an investigation into complaints in the 7700 block of Maple Avenue, for drug activity, police said.  

Officers entered an apartment building and observed Wint walking toward them. Officers could smell the odor of fresh marijuana coming from where Wint was standing, police said.

Officers searched Wint and found him in possession of approximately a half-pound of marijuana, clear sandwich bags and a digital scale, police said.

The amount of marijuana in Wint’s possession, as well as the paraphernalia, was indicative of an intent to distribute, police said.
