Man Arrested For Fatal Stabbing, Police Say
The Takoma Park Police Emergency Response Team assisted in arresting a man wanted for a fatal stabbing who barricaded himself in his home.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — The Takoma Park Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) assisted Laurel Police in arresting a man who barricaded himself in his home and charged him with first-degree murder.
Police arrested Reginald Alston, 35, of Laurel for the stabbing death of John Budd, 54, of Laurel.
Alston is accused of attacking Budd in the 300 block of Gorman Ave. in Laurel at about 6 p.m. Tuesday. Police found Budd unconscious and transported him to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead from numerous stab wounds.

Investigation led detectives to develop Alston as a suspect and a warrant for his arrest was acquired. Takoma Park Police and Laurel Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) responded to Alston’s residence after he barricaded himself inside, police said. Officers surrounded the residence and Alston surrendered without further incident.
Alston was taken into custody by Laurel Police and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and reckless endangerment, police said.
