Man Found Guilty In Deadly Stabbing Of Pregnant Woman: Police
A Silver Spring man was found guilty for the murder of a pregnant woman who worked as a Montgomery County Public School bus driver.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A Silver Spring man was found guilty for the fatal stabbing of a pregnant Takoma Park woman in April 2016.
Kinshala Nkusu, 35, was found guilty by jury trial in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County for the murder of Maria Veronica Mbunga, 36. Mbunga was employed by the Montgomery County Public School Transportation System as a bus driver, police said.
Officers were called for the report of a suspicious situation in the 600 block of Houston Ave. at about 2 p.m. April 27, 2016.

Nkusu was found injured near an elevator near the lobby, while officers located Nkusu with multiple stab wounds in an apartment.
Mbunga was 20 weeks pregnant. Both she and her unborn child died from their injuries, police said.

After being taken to the hospital, it was determined that Nkusu had superficial knife wounds that did not correlate with what he told police had occurred; he did not require surgery.
Nkusu was transported from the hospital to the Takoma Park Police Department, where he was taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
Nkusu’s sentencing is scheduled for July 2.
