Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – Special
Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in
locating a missing teenager from Silver Spring.

Amel Abdurezak, age 17, was last seen on January 29, 2022,
at approximately 12 p.m., leaving her Treetop Lane apartment.  

Abdurezak is approximately 5-feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 130
pounds. She has brown eyes, black hair and a pierced right nostril. She was
last seen wearing a grey hoodie, blue jeans and a pair of black fury crocs. 

Police and family are concerned for her welfare. 

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Amel
Abdurezak is asked to call Montgomery County Police SVID at (240) 773- 5400 or
the police non-emergency number at (301) 279-8000.
