Ownership of Rt. 410 to be Discussed at Council Meeting
Some residents fear the state will widen 410 if it is taken over.

The Takoma Park City Council will be taking up the issue of ownership of the strip of Rt. 410 that makes up Philadelphia Avenue and Ethan Allen Ave at it's meeting Monday night.
The issue has caused controversy among some residents who don't want the State Highway Administration to take over ownership of the road for fear that the heavily traveled road will be widened.
The council will discuss a memorandum of understanding that the state drafted to set up rules for the transfer of ownership.
