Check out these upcoming highlights from the Takoma Park Farmers Market Facebook page:
- Many vendors still have vine-ripened tomatoes at the market this weekend.
- Blue Ridge Botanicals will have starter pots of lettuce, kale and spinach for the fall garden.
- Twin Springs Fruit Farm will have Honeycrisp apples, Royal Gala apples, tomatoes, canary melons, carrots and the final two weeks of peaches.
- At the community corner on Sept. 4th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Takoma Park Farmers, Art Works Studio School from Mt Rainier wil have free art projects for the whole family including tote bag decorating and pinwheel making. Managing Director Suzanne McFadden will be there to head the projects and share information about fall classes and upcoming open house on Sept. 10.
- Sara Polon of the new Takoma, D.C. restaurant Soupergirl, will be at the market from this Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to share some tasty soup samples. Soupergirl is opening on Sept. 7 at 314 Carroll St. NW.
