Takoma Park Man Sentenced for Child Pornography

A Takoma Park man was sentenced to 12 years in prison and lifetime supervised visits for receipt of child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Larry Bruce Twombly, 54 of the 6600 block of Westmoreland Avenue, was identified by law enforcement when he was sharing files of child pornography on different chat forums on the Internet. Agents found a computer with approximately 57 videos and 80 images depicting children, including children under the age of 12, engaged in sexually explicit conduct, officials said.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
