Takoma Park Police Make Arrest In Philadelphia Ave Robbery

The man turned himself in Monday, police said.

Takoma Park Police arrested a Hyattsville man Monday for a robbery that occurred Saturday afternoon on Philadelphia Avenue, Takoma Park Police said.

Terry Phillip Blaine, 45, was charged with strong arm robbery, 2nd degree assault, false imprisonment and theft.

On July 16 around 4:39 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 200 block of Philadelphia Avenue for the report of a robbery that had just occurred, police.

The victim had finished shopping and was sitting in her vehicle closing the door when she was approached by a male who pulled the door open, police said.

 The suspect grabbed the victim’s bag and ran back to his vehicle which was a red Ford truck with a silver strip, police said.

A witness to the incident was able to provide a vehicle tag number of the suspect’s vehicle.  Takoma Park Police ran the tag number and retrieved information about the owner of the vehicle as well as a photograph. Police then obtained an arrest warrant and Blaine turned himself in Monday.
