Takoma Park Teacher On Leave After Antisemitic Posts: Report
The teacher is the second Montgomery County educator to be placed on leave for comments tied to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

TAKOMA PARK, MD — A Montgomery County teacher is on leave after she made a "series of antisemitic posts" on social media, according to district officials and a report.
In a letter to families obtained by WTOP, Takoma Park Middle School Principal Erin Martin said she was made aware of the posts by several community members. WTOP identified the teacher as Angela Wolf, a leader in the school’s English Language Development Department.
According to WTOP, the district placed Wolf on leave.

"I was extremely saddened and disappointed by the contents of these posts and strongly condemn the views expressed, as they do not align with our school’s values of inclusivity, respect, and acceptance," Martin wrote in the letter to families.
She added, "Discrimination in any form will not be tolerated."

The incident comes just weeks after Sabrina Khan-Williams, a world studies teacher at Tilden Middle School in Rockville, was placed on administrative leave after she was accused of posting antisemitic messages on social media and claiming the October attack by Hamas on Israel was a hoax.
At least 200 Palestinians have been killed since the fighting resumed Friday morning following the weeklong truce with the territory’s ruling militant group Hamas, according to the Health Ministry in Gaza.
Separately, the ministry announced that the overall death toll in Gaza since the Oct. 7 start of the Israel-Hamas war surpassed 15,200, a sharp jump from the previous count of more than 13,300 on Nov. 20.
The ministry does not differentiate between civilians and combatants, but it said 70 percent of the dead were women and children. It also said more than 40,000 people had been wounded since the war began.
Meanwhile, district officials are investigating the reported posts made by Wolf.
"These social media posts have undermined our school's values of respect and belonging," Martin said in her letter. "We are committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all students, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs."
