'We Are Takoma' Performance Documents Man's Love of Cars

The obsession men have with cars has been well-documented, but in the newest installment of the "We Are Takoma" series makes the passion personal.

A Natural History of My Husband's Cars, which premiers July 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Takoma Park auditorium, is the story of Jim Landry's love of automobiles. 

In the 75-minute performance, Landry and his wife Nicole Burton weave stories, photographs and original music with a social history of the cars' vintages.

Suggested donation is $15.

Landry is a photographer, painter, and musician whose work has been exhibited in Maryland. He's a musical collaborator with poet Anne Becker and author of the photo-blog, MusicFromTheFilm.blogspot.com.

Burton is an award-winning playwright whose play Fred and Frieda performed to sold-out houses at the Greenbelt Arts Center last year. She's also the author of Swimming Up The Sun: A Memoir of Adoption, published by Apippa Publishing.
