3 Area High Schools Named Among Maryland’s Best
The U.S. News & World Report ranked the top 30 high schools in the state.

U.S. News & World Report ranked three area high schools in the top 20 in the state.
Dulaney High School is No. 17 and Towson High School (Law and Public Policy program) is ranked No. 12 and George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, at No. 9, is the top ranked Baltimore County high school in the state, according to the list.
The rankings are based on students teacher ratio, how 12th grade students performed on AP tests as well as how the school performed on standardized math and English tests.

- Student to Teacher Ratio: 13 to 1
- Passed AP: 56 percent
- Proficient in algebra: 100 percent
- Proficient in English: 91 percent
