Caregiver Accused of Assaulting Disabled Man at Timonium Group Home

Nnamdi Adiegwu faces charges of abuse and assault for the alleged September 2012 attack.

A Baltimore man was recently charged for allegedly assaulting a 52-year-old disabled man under his care at a Timonium group home.

Nnamdi Adiegwu, 37, is facing one count each of abuse of a vulnerable adult in the second degree and assault in the second degree, according to a statement from the Maryland Attorney General's office. A co-worker reported that he saw Adiegwu push the man and strike him with a kitchen spatula at the home, in the 200 block of Purlington Road. 

Adiegwu is slated to appear in court for trial on July 17, according to the statement. He could receive up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000 for the abuse charge and 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $2,500 for the assault charge.
