Victor Brick Details New ‘Crowning Jewel’ Super Gym

After more than two decades as fitness gurus and gym owners, Victor and Lynn Brick are taking all that they know and cramming it under one roof.

The Bricks will be in the Broad Street Market shopping center in the old supermarket building in January.

“It’s going to be more upscale, more spacious, more modern and more all-encompassing,” Victor Brick said. “Every one of our clubs has something that is unique but is limited in other areas. For instance, , but not a pool. Also, most of the clubs are older.

“This is kind of the crowning jewel in the chain,” he continued.

The new gym will be nearly four times the size of the , which is across the street from the new location.

“I said I would never relocate if I could hit a golf ball from the roof of the Padonia Fitness Center to the new site,” Brick said. “My CFO, on a good day, with the wind on his back, if he catches a good bounce across Padonia Room, he can hit the parking Shoppers parking lot.”

Brick said he and his wife have been looking to relocate the Padonia club for over two decades. He and his wife opened the club, the first of seven health centers, 27 years ago.

“I remember I stood in the parking lot with my father and he leant me the money,” Brick said. “He said ‘What are you going to do when you outgrow the parking?’ And I laughed and said we’ll worry about that when the time comes. We had outgrown the parking in our first year.”

The new gym will feature:

• Full court basketball court
• 25 meter pool
• Therapy pool
• Whirl pool
• Spacious locker rooms
• Childcare area (with a computer center for kids)
• Multi-sport court (for kids)
• Large indoor cycle room
• Mind and body (yoga and Pilates room)
• A line of equipment by Hoist Fitness
• Boxing room (kickboxing and P90X-type group training)
• Space for outdoor activities and workouts
