A Family Affair Children's Center

We have a full preschool program serving children ages two through five years old. We use creative curriculum which is a theme based, teacher created curriculum. We have a music teacher who comes once a week and we take several field trips a year. Our 2’s and 3’s Program In our 2’s and 3’s room we focus on helping children master self-care tasks such as toilet-training and using cups and forks as well as building social skills. We also lay the foundation for future academic learning with the basics such as the alphabet, colors, and basic math skills such as patterns and counting. Our 4’s and 5’s Program Our 4’s and 5’s program focuses on Kindergarten readiness. We cover all developmental areas including literacy, math concepts, science, social skills, music, and art all couched within a fun and interactive theme such as “Animals” or “The Beach.” Learning activities related to each of those topics are done throughout the week. Before and After School Care We provide before and after school care for children who attend Pine Grove or Harford Hills Elementary. We are open when schools are closed. We do a variety of indoor and outdoor activities such as: ○ Table games ○ Crafts ○ Legos ○ Outdoor play We also offer homework help, a morning and afternoon snack. Children are picked up and dropped off from the center by the BCPS bus system. Summer Camp We offer a school age summer camp for Kindergarten—5th graders. The is seeking runners and sponsors for its first 5K race. The , announced Wednesday, is scheduled for June 3 on the campus of . Registration is available <a href="http://actconline.info/Events.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">on the organization's website</a>. The organization <a href="http://actconline.info/Services.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">supports food aid</a> and other assistance for needy residents in parts of Towson, North Baltimore, Pikesville, Parkville, Cockeysville and northern Baltimore County. Suzanne Boellner, the vice president of resources for the group, said the organization needs money for services including rent and utility assistance, transportation and supplemental food supplies. "That money all comes from donations, [but] when we run out of food, we have to take the money we would normally use for services like that," Boellner said.
