Towson Grad Among 'The Bachelorette' Potential Contestants

"The Bachelorette" may feature a former Towson University football player. He could compete for a rose on the hit dating show this summer.

TOWSON, MD — The dating reality show "The Bachelorette" may feature a former Towson University football player, the team announced last week.

Caleb Smith, going by his nickname Moze, could be one of 28 men looking to win over Jenn Tran in Season 21. Smith is among the "early look" potential contestants that could be on the show when it returns this summer to ABC and Hulu.

Tran, 26, originally appeared on Joey Graziadei's season of "The Bachelor." She lives in Miami and is studying to be a physician assistant. The bilingual Vietnamese Tran loves reading, paddleboarding and traveling.

The 25-year-old Smith is originally from Albany, New York. He attended high school at La Salle Institute in Troy, New York before heading to Towson.

Smith played 31 games for the Towson Tigers at wide receiver from 2017 to 2021. He led the team in catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns in 2021. That season earned him all-conference third-team honors. He finished his Towson career with 95 catches for 1,251 yards and six touchdowns.

Smith went on to play professional football for the Iowa Barnstormers in the Indoor Football League. Last year, he had 43 catches for 463 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Smith is also the son of Towson Athletics Hall of Fame football player Rodney Smith.
